Chromebook 1:1 School vs Home Use

All students have access to a Chromebook for use at school. The district encourages a true 1:1 model meaning that one student is assigned one Chromebook for their entire time at a specific school. However, each school determines the best model for their students. Please see school procedures below for their student Chromebook use.

PreK  - students use class sets of iPads that do not leave the classroom.

JCPS  - each classroom has a set of Chromebooks that do not leave the classroom.

WPES - students are assigned a Chromebook they will use each school year for their entire time at WPES turning it in for the summers and when they are promoted to 6th grade. Students are not allowed to take their assigned Chromebook home.

JCMS - students are assigned a Chromebook to use their entire time at JCMS turning it in for the summers and when they are promoted to 9th grade. Students are not allowed to take their assigned Chromebook home.

JCHS - students are assigned a Chromebook to use their entire time at JCHS turning it in for the summers. They have the option to enroll in the Lease to Own Program.

JCVA - Virtual Academy students have access to a lab on the JCMS campus should they need to use a Chromebook or desktop to complete assignments.

Remind

In an effort to streamline our communications, we have completed a data purge. This purge removes devices not associated with a student or a class in Jasper Co Charter System. Students, parents/guardians and staff are automatically rostered through ClassLink so it is important to keep contact information up-to-date.
